Looking through the telephoto lens I saw that the brown smudge was indeed a hare. It did not seem very happy: it lifted its head out of its hiding place as if wanting to chase away the bird that had betrayed its presence.
So I found my hare and was able to start taking the shots I wanted. I should perhaps tell you at this point that I mainly work underwater – I had never photographed a hare before, so I was curious to know what went on in their world. And sure enough, things started happening.
