The Freshwater Project - Alpine Spring Creek

The Hongrin is a tributary of the Sarine River (or Saane) in the Gruyère Alps, Cantons of Vaud and Fribourg, Switzerland. In the upper part is the Lac de l'Hongrin, a reservoir with a surface area of 1.60 km2. The water of the reservoir is released into the Lake of Geneva to produce electricity through a pumped storage hydro power station.
Just a residual flow empties into the gorge of the Hongrin towards the Sarine River. The gorge is still of incredible beauty, but of very difficult access. It is extremely dangerous to enter the gorge, as water level can suddenly rise at any time due to operation of hydroelectric installations.
