Drawing with light *

As a photographer, you always look for this special light. For me, this is even more important under water, and light means natural light.
I’m probably one of the very, very few underwater photographers working without flashlight, and this since about twenty years. Lately, I bought an expensive flashlight system for my underwater camera, to dive in Lake Malawi. I used it for perhaps five minutes ...
I guess you understand what I mean when you look at the images I made last month in the Cenotes in Mexico. This light is just to magical! Can you imagine the feeling to hang there motionless in the middle of the crystal clear water in front of this light show? That’s why I’m photographer: to experience such moments.

* The word "photography" was created from the Greek roots φωτ?ς (ph?tos), genitive of φ?ς (ph?s), "light" and γραφ? (graphé) "representation by means of lines" or "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light". (Source: Wikipedia)
